Are you a proud runner?

Are you a Proud Runner?

No I mean have you heard about them?
They are  a site created by a runner to connect other runners with a variety of running products that help you take pride in your running accomplishments.

If you are a runner most likely you have. I found them last year just after the TinkerBell Half Marathon. I decided to order 2 pairs of socks from them to see how I liked them.
So I got this pair:

 And this pair:

These socks are so light. I love how they are not bunchy in my shoe. In fact I do not even feel like I have socks on.
They have some great styles to keep you looking awesome while you are out there conquering the world.
I think these might be my next ones:
They have to make me faster right? Or at least think so!!

Proud Runner has great customer service and fast shipping. Give them a try. Have you already. Post some pictures on our Facebook to share with us.

Momma gets crafty

So I posted on Facebook ( go follow us here) that my bestie and I got crafty over the weekend. We have decided that together we have so many dang PINS on Pinterest that we need to start doing them. We accomplish 2 things:

We have an awesome craft when we are done
We get to spend some girl time together. Because seriously even though we live 2 doors away from each other we hardly see each other. We both ride the same roller coaster in MommyLand, except hers has a slightly different turn in it called a job that requires her to be their everyday.

So craft night is something we both look forward too.

Are you ready to see the craft?

It is a family birthday board. This is the unfinished version. It is now finished and I love it. We got the idea from here. It was so easy.

Let me know if you try it. I would love to see your version.

You gotta start somewhere right?

This blog is called Running through MommyLand for a reason. Its about time I got back to doing just that.....RUNNING!

Mr.Man is 3 months old so its time. I walked throughout my pregnancy so I didn't have to start completely from scratch. I started again walking when Mr. Man was 2 months old. I started walking outside a few weeks ago.
Now when I say walking you have to know that I do not go by myself. I take the kids with me.
Yep, 2 kids 1 car seat in a double stroller. I even take my purse/diaper bag for emergencies that may arise.

So let's do the math.
Mr. Man= 15 pounds
car seat= we will say 5 pounds
Shelber= 30 pounds
purse,backpack full of toys,blankets= 5 pounds
double stroller= 40-50 pounds

total: almost 100 pounds!!!

That is what I am pushing in front of me.

So when I went out this morning I was determined to RUN or JOG really. We did a warm up of about 5 minutes with a brisk walk. Then we did 1 minute running and 1 minute walking. We started great and then the cold wind hit us. Shelb wanted to go home. I need to take a picture of how she sits in the stroller and you will know that she is not cold. So I told her we would hurry.
For our first time back we did pretty good.

We battled the wind most of the time and we go uphill a lot but I am happy with my time...FOR NOW!!

Now I am relaxing with a sleeping baby. Check out my socks from PROUD RUNNER. I love them. I will be reviewing the this week. Stay tuned!

Drying Up!!!

It is a fact of life for mommas at some point after giving birth. You have to dry up.

I have breastfed Mr. Man for 3 months. I tried everything to keep up with him and I could not. We started supplementing around 2 months. At 3 months he was on a 50/50 mix.
So I have decided that it is time for me to dry up. I had gone down to pumping 2 times a day. I feel I was ready.
With my daughter I quit cold turkey. So this time I felt like I should cut down first. I seriously believe it does not matter how you do it, it hurts to dry up.
I was on day 2 yesterday and everytime my daughter bump my body it sent chills to my boobs. I was in pain. I have heard about cabbage leaves but I wanted to use something I already had. S I went to my oils.
I started with Peppermint. Oh sweet relief. I was able to sleep without pain. I woke up and I was again in pain. So I took a shower. I read not to express any milk while drying up so I didn't. After getting out of the shower I used Deep Blue.
Why the change up? I didn't want to go downstairs to get the Peppermint. LOL!

Peppermint is known to decrease your milk supply. It will also help sore muscles. Deep Blue has peppermint in it. So I used both and this is one happy mama. I Do not like the process of drying up but if I can do it pain free I am all for it.

Ask me how to get your oils at wholesale prices or find out here.

Coconut Oil hair treatment

So I have had a few ask about this and so I thought I would do a post about it.

Normally I wash my hair and put saran wrap on and use the blow dryer for a hot oil treatment. Yesterday I just put the oil in and left it in all day.  Either way works and leaves your hair so soft. I do this about once a month. I don't know if it is this treatment or what but I have not lost any hair yet like some do after having a baby.
I have long hair so I really saturate the roots with refined Coconut oil. You can get it from your health food store or HERE (this is the kind I use.)

I use coconut oil for more than my hair. I use it on my face and feet as well. It is a wonderful product.

Check out pinterest for more uses for Coconut oil

Peace of mind

So for months I have had the worst time at bed time.

Oh not with puddin pop.
 She looks sweet right?

She is so hyper come bed time it makes for an unhappy momma.

Since I have been using oils I figured there has to be an answer.

I found one:

Peaceful Child courtesy of Everything Essential
Peaceful Child Blend
  18 drops Vetiver
  10 drops Ylang Ylang
  7 drops Frankincense
  5 drops Clary Sage
  3 drops Marjoram
  12 drops Fractionated coconut oil

Blend in a roll on bottle and apply to bottoms of feet and on the brain/ spinal reflex points of the feet right after showering in the morning.

I figured it was worth a shot. I had tried Lavender and it wasn't doing the trick.

It worked.

So here is our new nightly routine.

Bath with Lavender
Put jammies on
Get a massage

In no more than 30 minutes she is asleep. When we do not use it she is up for a good 1.5 hours after getting her in bed.

Mr.Man even gets a massage with Lavender. He loves the massage. He also sleeps all night. He does without the oil though but it also makes him smell so yummy!!!

If you would like to order the products used in the blend contact me @ or shop HERE

If you try it let me know how it works for you.

3 months

My baby turned 3 months old today. Where has the time gone. It has been such a joy to watch him grow and learn and interact with his siblings.
He thinks that Shelby is so funny.
He doesn't stand a chance with her.
Today I witnessed her telling him who all the Disney princesses and princes were. Poor kid.

2 weeks ago we took him to the doctor for shots :( but mostly for stats! I could not wait to see how big my boy had gotten.
Weight: 13.5 lbs
Height: 24 in

Yep he is my big Mr.Man!!!!

He loves to watch Shelby
He smiles and coos
He is sleeping ALL NIGHT!!!!

My motivation

Weather was so great today that we finally got to go out and enjoy it. I also got to enjoy my awesome Christmas gift from my brother in law.

To tell you how much I love My Garmmie, this is my THIRD one. I had the 301 and the 305 before. They are big and bulky and frankly had more on it than I used.

I needed a simple HR monitor and distance/time calculator. The Garmin 110 is just what I needed. My brother in law doesn't know how awesome he is. Maybe he read my mind? Maybe he just sees my status updates on FB when I cry cause I need another monitor. LOL!

Thanks to Garmin Connect I get to see all the other stuff like calories burned, maps, etc

So warmer weather, my garmmie and new insurance have given me motivation.

Oh new insurance? How does that motivate?

Well where my honey works has a HEALTH program on their insurance. If we maintain a certain level of fitness they cut us a break on the price. SO I have been motivated by our insurance!!!

I do love getting outside. So do the kids. Oh and thank goodness for the LeapPad.
