First week back

Well I just finished my long run.

Now when I say long run please remember this is my first week back running after a year break. Wow typing that was a little bit of reality. I can not believe it has been a year since I have been running steadily.
Well it felt good out there this morning. After not being able to sleep last night I thought getting up would be hard.
I set my alarm and did it. I got out of bed.
Thoughts running through my head:
Oh my bed is warm.
Oh I need more sleep.
I will run later.

We all have excuses right? Well I didn't let the get the better of me. I have goals. I have races I signed up for. I don't get solo runs very often. Oh I didn't mention that. Yep the hubs is giving me some time to go solo.

Oh I need this. Solo run. Feeling free. No pushing my favorite 100 pounds up and down the hills. Ok get up.

I got dressed..warmly cause it is still cold here. Out I went. It was easier than I though it would be. I just kept going. I planned on 5 miles. I went 4.64. Not bad for the first one.
So now that I have the first long run under my belt. I am ready to tackle more.

I am glad I stopped when I did. Once I got home and started stretching I realized how stiff I was. Off to the shower and some Deep Blue rubbed on my calves.

I met my step goal by 8 am. I have a goal of 10,000 steps a day. Done!!!
