Homemade Joy

So yesterday I was having a sweet craving. I really did not want to go get something from the store. I was browsing Facebook and the Velata page talked about making some Almond Joy style candies.

I love almonds just not in my chocolate. So I call my version just Joy.

Homemade Joy:
1 cup sweetened Coconut flakes
sweetened condensed milk
Velata Caramel Milk Chocolate
Velata Milk Chocolate

So in my Kitchen Aid mixer I put in the coconut flakes and started mixing. Then I opened the sweetened condensed milk and poured just enough in to give it a good coating. No measuring.

Then I wet my hands (that stuff is sticky). I formed balls and put them on wax paper and placed them in the fridge. After about an hour, long enough for the them to harden up, I took them out and dipped them in the warmed chocolate. After placing them back on the cookie sheet I placed them in the fridge for about an hour.

My family is not HUGE coconut fans but they liked this treat.

Haven't heard of Velata Fondue warmers. Click here to go check them out. So fun for all occasions. Chocolate and Cheese.
Save 10 percent on all Velata through the end of September.
