Thankful for the feast and family

We always make to much food on Thanksgiving. Who doesn't?

So thankful that my family is amazing and lets me take pictures all the time. This year I brought out the new selfie stick so that we could get more people in the photos.

Make sure to always have stuff for the littles to stay occupied.
Pre feast snacks......notice the activity tablecloth.

She kept asking for his blinkie. He finally shoved it in her mouth.

Look at the love he has for!

He tried his hand at the selfie stick
I love them all. Thanks for loving me back family!

Turkey Trot 2014

So like last year we decided to put on the Turkey Trot again.
I was a great excuse to burn off some calories before gathering with family and eating.

 Sweet medal right ?
Smaller group then last year. Some lazy people signed up and didn't come. Boo to them.
Here is Shelby and her cousin with their bling!

We had a great time in spite of the cold.

He's 2!

Last week my baby turned 2.

I can not believe it. He is growing so fast. I wish the clock would stop. I wish I could freeze them in time.

Since I can not do that I will tell you about the very simple and plain birthday celebration we had for him.

Now I have to tell you that I am very disappointed in myself for not going all out for him. Do you remember the royal celebration for Shelby.....ya poor Mr. Man got a cake and family. Now I can not complain too much because he does have amazing family.

It would not be a party without photo props. We had to do something. My family is great sports.

I had an amazing friend make him his cake

Just a little sampling before the guests arrive.....

he loved the real deal too.

Now they each have their own.....

He got a Nabi 2 and he loves it.

I guess turning 2 is not all bad, till you get your sister cold.  I hope he enjoys being two. Next year we will go all out.

Love ya Mr.Man

Family Date Night

Yesterday when hubby got home our plans for the night somehow changed.

The plan was to go to the school Fall Carnival. My friends had helped plan it and I wanted to go support them and their efforts.

Hubby wanted to take a trip to the city.....we live in a small town remember. No Target!!!

So we packed up the kids and went for family date night. We went to Durangos and then to a movie.

Ever since the kids and I saw Planes Fire and Rescue we have want to see Big Hero 6.

So glad we were able to go.

It did not disappoint. It was so cute. It was the first movie in a long time that the hubby actually said was good. That is a lot people.

Shawn sat through the whole thing. Cried when we had to leave!!!

The story is so cute. I love BayMax and Hero.

Cold Running Begins

It is offically cold here. I have been dreading this. I do not like running in the cold. Cool temps yes but not freezing.

That picture shows you the temp but the real feel was 30 degrees.

So I layered up. 2 shirts and a coat. I feel like Baymax from Big Hero 6, which we saw last night, in all my layers.
Thank you North Face and Under Armor for keeping me warm.

I told my hubby when I left that I would be going 6 miles. 4 miles was my back up plan and 2 miles was my back up back up plan.

I went 4. I walked some. I have not been running during the week.
I felt great and it wasn't completely as cold as I thought.

It was beautiful as I was coming home. Now to enjoy some coffee.

Pumpkin Patching

A few weeks ago we went to our local pumpkin patch. I just found the pictures on my computer. I love that my hubby is up for an adventure to the patch for some family time.

Even though this post is not about him, I have to gush on him for a moment. He is an amazing dad and husband. Just looking at these photos I am reminded of that.

Shelb calls it pumpkin patching so off we went!!

My sweet boy doesn't want to leave mommy behind.

 She found the winner.

I asked her to help carry it.

Is the place not gorgeous!!

Halloween and Half Marathons

This year Halloween was not spent at home. This is the first year we would not be trick or treating at home. Totally new experience for us but we roll with the punches.

I was running a half marathon the day after Halloween so we were in St. George for Halloween. We had the most fun.

Our Halloween was celebrated in 2 days so let me first tell about Shelby's school program.

She got to dress up in costume on Thursday for school and have a little program. It was the cutest thing. The kids and the teachers looked amazing in costume. Shelby was not shy this year singing the songs. She did great. She was most excited that she could see her grandma in the crowd. Little stinker.

 My sweet Belle
The next day we had lunch with Shelby's cousin and my aunt before taking off on the road.
She is still in her dance costume. They are the best of friends.

Then we got on the road. Race packet pick up was at Staheli Farm. We love that place. They had Trick in the Corn for the kids. So great. I am not huge on a lot of sugar for my kids so this was perfect.

 First Race Bib ever!!!

He was mad that I would not let him touch the guitar playing skeleton.

The next day was race day. I had a horrible race but I finished. My head was not in it. I was focused on Shelby and her first race. I made it to her with literally seconds to spare. She did great.
 Shelby's first flat runner
 Ready to go

All in all I would say we had an amazing Halloween.
